Cheers for your prompt answer.  The exact model is Fire Hard disk drive 8 (seventh Generation).  From the documentation that you lot provided, I believe this is still a supported model.  The documentation indicates that latest Skype version for this model is viii.15.0.419 while the version that I have is 8.15.0.389.  My version was automobile updated to my tablet on 22 Sept which was when my problems started.  The 419 version is not yet bachelor to me through the Amazon Appstore.

My experience with another platform (a nine year old iPod) is that Skype app advises you lot that your device is not supported when yous attempt to download the app and the app will not download.  That does non occur in this case.

I doubtable that I volition have to expect for the 419 version and promise that it resolves my trouble.

I accept tried the clearing data and cache as you suggested equally well as a delete and re-install of the app.  No change in the result.  I will report the trouble to Skype.

I bought a fire hd for my elderly neighbor,she's 91 and Skyping her family over in Australia,it has been working flawlessly until Sunday,when people try to video phone call her it shows someone is trying to phone call but information technology immediately cuts of??

i tried to contact her from my fire hd and same matter,information technology only won't connect??Any suggestions?

sod's law simply her great grandson was in town and was going to be on the Skype in Australia and she couldn't speak and encounter him which upset her.

i take tried everything,rebooting router,rebooting tablet,unistalling re-installing Skpe,updating her tablet,nada is working!

Sorry that you are appear to be having the aforementioned problem.  Information technology must have been very disappointing for your elderly neighbor, in particular.

I am convinced that is a trouble related to the latest Skype version that was automatically updated in the last week (version 8.15.0.389) as in that location were no bug before.  As I mentioned in an earlier post,  Skype shows a after version 8.fifteen.0.419 equally the current one for the Fire Hd tablet.  Unfortunately that newer version is no yet bachelor through the Amazon Appstore.  Whether it will solve the problem I exercise not know.

I accept reported the problem to both Skype and Amazon.  I reported the problem to Skype via an on-line Trouble Written report but I have no idea if or when they will respond and address it.  I reported the problem to Amazon and talked to a real person who submitted the problem report on my behalf.  They assure me that at that place volition exist a response within ii concern days.  I will postal service it here when I hear back from them.
